Moving Made Easy – Your Move-In Checklist
We know moving can be a busy and sometimes overwhelming time, so we've put together this helpful checklist to keep you organized and make your move into your new home a little smoother. Some items may not apply to everyone, so if you have any questions, feel free to reach out to your apartment’s Leasing Office.
Before you Move: Securing an Apartment:
- I’ve been approved for my new apartment and have confirmed my move-in date with the Leasing Office.
- I’ve paid the Application and Administrative Fees to secure my apartment.
- I’ve received my new address for mail and services.
- I've scheduled movers, rented a truck or arranged help for moving day.
- I have all supplies I need: Boxes, Packing Paper, Tape, etc.
- I've scheduled a time and date to sign my Lease paperwork and pick up keys.
- I've contacted Evergy to set up electricity.
- I've filled out a mail forwarding form with the Post Office.
- I've secured the appropriate renters insurance coverage.
Move-In Day:
- I've provided the Evergy (electricity) confirmation number to the Leasing Office for my new apartment.
- I have the total amount due for move-in costs per the Welcome Letter in certified funds.
- I've signed my Lease and received my keys.
- I've broken down moving boxes and disposed of them in the propert trash/recycling areas.
- I've visited the Department of Motor Vehicles to update my Driver's License with my new address.
- I may want to set up Autopay for rent through Payment Service Network (PSN). Note: Details can be found in your move-in folder.
